Official and private papers concerning affairs of the Diocese of Texas include a circular to the diocese on the outbreak of the Civil War and a call for a convention of the Confederate dioceses. A pamphlet by the Reverend Charles Gillette, of Austin, 1865, concerns the history of the Church in Texas during the Civil War and his correspondence with Gregg. There are letters about division of the Diocese, Gregg's views on women voting in vestry elections, and his proposals for a Church Constitutional Convention, 1874.
